Yes, I'm having an OPEN HOUSE with Janet Smith on November the 22nd and 23rd at my house. Although Janet doesn't currently make jewelry, she has lots of things she made and just didn't get around to selling it. Sooo, together we're going to have a party. I'm downloading some pictures of my recent pieces....mainly just my metal cuffs. I need to take pictures of my rings, necklaces and bracelets and post them soon.

Getting Ready for my Open House on the 22nd and 23rd
I've got several pictures to post for new items I've recently made for my Open House but I'll just post a few at a time as it takes forever to download. Next post I'll take pictures of some necklaces, bracelets and rings to post!

I just love the booth I share with my friend Terry! She has such a unique decorating talent as you can see from our booth setup Sunday!

I am such a happy girl right now! My sweet husband (aftering finding pictures of this bench throughout the house) bought me a beautiful hardwood bench at Christmas for my silversmithing activities. And I bought a bench grinder last weekend (awaiting the polishing cloth from Amazon) to set on my new bench. I also painted a pegboard to fit behind the bench and I've ordered a couple swing arm lamps for the bench that will give me enough light to torch, file, and polish my metal jewelry components. So many ideas in my head of what I will create on that bench. I'll take some pictures as soon as I get everything set up to show everyone!

New Designs in Time for Christmas
Made some new pieces for the boutique than sells my designs. Here is a picture of some of those pieces. Really would like to have a Christmas Open House but don't know if I can get that many more pieces made but I'll sure try! If you see anything you like let me know, I will either hold it back from the shop or I'll make something similiar. Remember everything is hand made so no two items are alike!

Etching My Heart Out :)
I so enjoy etching metal. I use muriatic acid and I can only get about one etching per bath so I don't get many pieces etched at a time. I love riveting other metals to these pendants and making jewelry out of them! I have bike riding friends I think about whenever I see a bicycle! Perhaps a Christmas pendant for one of them :)

Back Again!
I can not believe it's been so long since I've added anything to my blog! I seem to be able to manage only one site at a time and I'm trying to use my IPad to post this blog! Hope it posts properly! I've made many new designs using mixed metals, charms, patina's and I'll get them download and posted soon! Getting ready to have some surgery so I'll be laid up a bit and hopefully I'll make good use of the time and manage some much needed duties!

A Day Teaching Metal Folding
Today I taught a class on form folding and riveting. It was so much fun....I don't get to play with metal as much since my son has started playing football. But I did get a chance to make my small group girls at church key rings for their birthdays. I made four, one each for the 3 girls who have a birthday in October, and one for the girl with a summer birthday! I love meeting with these girls at church every Wednesday night, they are so fun to hang with!

MIA - But I'm back
I don't seem to have any time to blog or facebook since my son started school and I started back to work! I really am going to try to do better....really I am. I did however, make a few pieces of jewelry these last couple of weeks. The bracelet and earrings were made using brass that I had etched previously. The key necklace is using some components from Tim Holtz scrapbooking line!

New Pieces of Jewelry
This copper butterfly is riveted onto a brass square with the word "dream" stamped on copper and riveted below the butterfly!
This is a necklace made from copper, a verdigris pantina applied and a riveted component created by my dear friend Maddie!
This is a copper cross that has a blue patina added hanging from a copper chain.
My son has been in school for a week and I have been off work so I've had lots of fun making jewelry. Tomorrow....back to the office :)

Lovin The Country!
Sam and I had a great time in Kansas visiting my dear friend Deborah Georing of Prairie Emporium. She taught me some new tricks in jewelry making (pictures to follow) and of course my city boy LOVED the country. There was 4-wheeling every day and Sam loved every minute! Thanks Deb for a wonderful time!

Gearing Up for Blue Dome!
I'm trying to get all my new pieces finished and ready to show for this years Blue Dome. Blue Dome is a local "mayfest" in which local artists display their arts. It is located at 2nd and Elgin and it is so worthwhile to see. It coincides with MayFest. Have you ever had soooo many ideas but just not enough time, well that's where I'm at. Back to my metal.......
